FS Recruitment Services are working with a leading specialist within the fire protection and offshore safety sector to recruit an experienced Fire Suppression Designer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation delivering complex fire safety and suppression projects across the offshore oil, gas and petrochemical industries.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, verification and development of fire suppression systems, supporting major projects and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of fire safety and fire suppression engineering projects.
- Assist with the design, verification and authorisation of fire safety system documentation.
- Develop and verify hydraulic models for fire suppression and deluge systems.
- Support clients with Fire Hazard Management and fire protection strategies.
- Review and verify technical reports prior to client submission.
- Assist in the development of operating procedures, maintenance manuals and testing methodologies for fire safety systems.
- Support the development and implementation of wet testing and foam testing programmes.
- Deliver technical training relating to fire suppression and deluge systems.
- Contribute to the development of innovative fire protection technologies and testing solutions.
- Liaise with clients, contractors and project stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant British Standards, European Standards and NFPA requirements.
- Support project management activities across fire protection and suppression projects.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience within the offshore oil, gas, petrochemical or fire protection sectors.
- Strong understanding of fire suppression, deluge and foam systems.
- Experience working with hydraulic modelling software.
- Knowledge of NFPA, API, British Standards and European Standards relating to fire protection systems.
- Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Desirable Qualifications
- Current BOSIET certification.
- Current MIST certification.
- Current Offshore Medical.
- Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
