About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Surveyor / Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out on-site fire alarm surveys across London, assessing existing systems and new requirements, and producing accurate and competitive quotations for fire alarm installation and upgrade works.
This is a varied role, combining site-based surveying with office-based estimating and project preparation. You will typically spend 2–3 days per week visiting customer sites and 2–3 days in the office preparing quotations, pricing works and supporting the wider team. Hybrid working may also be available depending on business requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out fire alarm surveys at commercial and business premises across London.

Attend client sites to assess existing fire alarm systems, buildings, layouts and requirements.

Identify system upgrades, replacements, extensions and remedial works required.

Take accurate site measurements and gather all information required to produce a quotation.

Review drawings, specifications and existing fire alarm system information.

Prepare detailed and accurate estimates and quotations for fire alarm works.

Price labour, materials, equipment and associated installation requirements.

Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams to clarify requirements.

Identify potential technical, commercial and installation issues during surveys.

Produce clear survey reports and supporting documentation.

Ensure quotations are commercially competitive while maintaining appropriate margins.

Follow relevant fire alarm standards, legislation and industry best practice.

Support the sales and operations teams with technical and commercial information.

Maintain accurate records of surveys, quotations and customer requirements.
About You
The ideal candidate will have experience within the fire alarm, fire detection, electrical or life-safety industry, with a good understanding of commercial fire alarm systems.
You should be confident visiting customer sites, speaking with clients and contractors, assessing requirements and then translating your findings into an accurate quotation.
We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in fire alarm surveying and/or estimating.

Comfortable working independently on customer sites.

Able to interpret drawings and understand building layouts.

Knowledgeable about commercial fire alarm systems and their components.

Commercially aware with good attention to detail.

Confident using Microsoft Office and estimating/pricing software.

Organised and capable of managing multiple quotations and surveys.

Professional and confident when dealing with customers.

Able to travel regularly across London.

Full UK driving licence preferred.
Working Pattern
The role offers a balance between site and office-based work:
2–3 days per week:
On-site surveys across London and surrounding areas.
2–3 days per week:
Office-based estimating, pricing jobs, preparing quotations, reviewing survey information and supporting the team.
Hybrid working:
Some flexibility may be available depending on workload and business requirements.
