About the Role
Our client is a well-established and growing provider of fire and security solutions, and they are looking for a driven, ambitious, and results-focused Business Development Manager to join their team based in Wolverhampton.
This is an exciting opportunity for a true "hunter" — someone who thrives on winning new business, building lasting client relationships, and making a real commercial impact. You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities across a broad portfolio of fire and security solutions, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control, and CCTV systems.
This is a fully office-based role, Monday to Friday, with client-facing activity forming a key part of your working week.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify, target, and convert new business opportunities across the fire and security sector
- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline, driving revenue growth in line with agreed targets
- Deliver compelling, professional presentations and proposals to senior stakeholders, directors, and decision-makers across a range of industries
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and prospective clients
- Conduct thorough site surveys and needs assessments to recommend the most appropriate solutions
- Prepare and present tailored quotations and tenders, negotiating contracts to a successful close
- Work closely with the operations and technical teams to ensure a seamless transition from sale to delivery
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activity using the company CRM system
- Keep up to date with industry developments, competitor activity, and market trends
- Represent the business professionally at all times, upholding company values and standards
What We Are Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years' proven sales experience within the fire and security industry — this is essential
- A demonstrable track record of new business development and achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Strong knowledge of fire and security solutions, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control, and CCTV
- Experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders and key decision-makers
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy
- Highly organised with strong time management and pipeline management skills
- A valid UK driving licence is essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
